Default Is this enough carb?

Hey everyone im in the market for a carb for my 408 stroker build, which will be putting down between 475 and 500 at the wheels. It was reccommended to me to get this carb: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...670+4294902720, and i found one for sale slightly used, but very cheap, and was wondering if it was enough to support that engine and that power. Thanks.

If not, any suggestions would be appreciated.

750 will feed a 408 ok
800 wouldnt hurt, wouldnt go smaller for sure.

basic formula to figure air needed by an engine is:

( ci X rpm ) / 3500 = cfm

( 408 X 6,500 ) / 3500 = 757cfm apx.

Hmm thanks for the input, im not sure on how high im gonna be revving my engine, but that formula definately helps give me a good idea. I found that carb for 100 plus shipping, which is a great deal. I talked to the guy and he said it has about 5000 miles on it and is in great shape and he will include everything he has for it. Should i jump on this? Or just get a bigger carb?

If your going to get the edlebrock i would recommend the 800 cfm. I would rather see you with a holley 4779 list number carb which is a 750 dpand use the proform main body because of the replaceable air bleeds, no choke horn, and better formed air entry into the venturies.

+1 good call ryan. Going withthe good/new carb over the "cheap" carbwill make a noticable difference. You won't be dissapointed.
