Any chance something got sucked up in there or forced in there with the turbo setup? How good of a filter / screen were you using? If I had to guess, I would say that it may have been a small metal fragment that broke free from the flowmaster after it was cut open.

Yep a small piece of slag was prolly the culprit. It's not bad enough to replace the pistons though # 7 looks like it got the worst of it. Fawk what a **** off.

see how it is on top of the pistons,funny its the same on both pistons!!!!looks like he is detonating and burning the pistons up.

You know I thought the same thing. But there is also pits on the head as well in the exact same locations. I am running 8* timing with the vacuum advance removed on 91 ocatane. So I really doubt it's detonating.

91 octane thats really low on a turbo motor how much boost?
its just a lil funny how its all in one place not all over the piston???
and its the same on both pistons wierd..
