rearend bushing removal tips?

Default rearend bushing removal tips?

Does anyone have any tips on the best way to remove the rearend bushings in the "ears".?

I was able to get one out with a mini sledge. I hit in inward first then knocked it back out. The other side was a pain. I had to use a drill and a sawzall.

That works good if you have to remove the metal sleeve too.

Do you have to remve the sleeve too or just the rubber? For the rubber, I knocked out the metal tube, then used a prybar and a drill....PITA

If the rear is off the car... take it outside and old a torch to the rubber till it catcches fire. Let it burn and then pop the rubber out. Leave the metal sleeve in there and go buy new "rubber only" bushings... lube them up and push them in.
