I once saw a car on the interstate that was rattle canned black and there is no way you will ever make it look good. It is hard to beleave a RichBitch is looking for such a cheap car to drive, so you are going to have to change your login if you go through with it.
Im going for a flat black look so I dont think it will look to bad,I have very low standards as I think macco jobs look great! I also like the look of black primer so I may just primer it and leave it like that, im not going for a great paint job, just something that looks more uniform, most of the paint is stripping from the car so it look terrible right now. This is just guna be my weekend racer so it doesnt have to look great, I mostly just want that primer flat black look and also to protect it from rust. I'd rather drop money to make it fast then to make it look nice.
By the way, my name is Rich.

I didnt do it personally but the guy just did what your supposed to do..He did it in his garage..Im not sure what grit he used but he sanded it down all the way to bare metal.. Then the primer, paint, clearcoat, and wet sand.. It looks great..

rattle can is good for small areas. in my experiance i have painted whole cars both ways and rattle is a skill to make look good and takes forever to do to look half as good as spraying the car out. in my sig all the black on my car was 96 cent cans of wal mart rattle cans, it looks good but its not very high. when u do the roof it will look like azz and the hood too. if u want a flat black primer car it will be alright otherwise spend 300 at macco. and if u get a sprayer they can be had for like 80 bucks but u need a good compressor and hoses and i have never found any paint for less than 150 a gallon and u have to know how to mix it too. im not trying to discourage you, but if u sand it wrong and its not perfect it will look bad too, because all the rough spots will show thru the paint. its hours of sanding.on the other hand macco sucks they dont prep the car correctly and it usally starts peeling after 2-3 years. just my 2 cents
save the time,
sand blast it with a fine grit down to bare metal, after all lights etc are moved, or covered with BLUE masking tape.
Do your repairs , sand, primer , wetsand, then maaco.
They are having the $250 special again. Preparation is the key.
The only benefit from painting yor car, would be if you had the equipment(NOT GO OUT AND BUY) , had the knowledge, and did a base coat clear coat.
They have all that. If you prep your car IT WILL LOOK BETTER THAN ANY NON PREPPED CAR THEY PAINT 400%

hes so damn right. infact this was my plan. its not that they dont do an ok paint job, they just dont strip off the old paint except where they have to. but if u bring them a already prepped car u will look good for 250, thats cheaper than u can paint it for anyways
