ah the fuel tank baffle. yes it can cause problems, if it hasn't already. when mine broke loose, it managed to snap my sending unit right off from it's top, leaving that floating around with the baffle. it also managed to bend the hanger assembly for the pump.

A loose tank baffle will cause fuel starvation to the pump momentarily if you takea turn too fast too hard and are low on gas.The engine may spit and sputter but will likely keep running. In time the baffle can break altogether and end up banging around in the tank which you will notice.
Replace the tank.
Replace the tank.

Yes, with the tank off is the best time to upgrade. You wont want to do it again, trust me.
Ditch the stock pump if thats what you still have, the stock pumps are somewhere around 88-90, not very big. Im running a 110 in my daily driver with my biggest mods being exhaust and gears so its plenty for me.
Ifthat doesnt sound good enough then go with a 155 or a 190. Im sure most of us will recommend one of those over a 110 anyway. An adj. fuel regulator wouldnt hurt either. Itll come in handy.
