Default Header Swap

I just bought a 90 Gt Auto and going to replace the whole exhaust. I just ordered Long Tube Headers with Flowmast Original 40's. I have read some say to loosen engine mounts to get the motor up high enough to get the old ones off and the new in. I have all the tools and the garage space to get the job done. Is it possible to do this without pulling the motor? It has shorties on it now. Will be running headers, h-pipe into mufflers.

You probably can go in without lifting the motor...I did with mine. But then again I have shorties...

No smog laws where you live huh?

Long tubes are tough..you need to rase the motor...uncouple the steering shaft and starter..also you need to make sure (make SURE) you ordered LT's for an auto..if not then don't even unbox them. It's a tough job for little gain if you already have shorties...but to each their own.

Thanks for the input. I kinda figured by looking at itI could do itwithouth lifting the motor.I live in Indiana and yes we have those laws and noise restricions to. I have a 95 F-150 with long tube headers with no cats into thrush glasspacks and she is loud. Just have to watch going through town.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm not planning on doing a whole bunch of mod work to it. If its going to be a hassle I'll just go with the shorties. Not much of a horsepower or torque difference with the 2?
