Surging idle

Surging idle
I got what I think is a fairly stock 5.0 and my idle is really rough. It will go up and down 500 rpms. I believe this is a sensor issue especially since there is aftermarket cam. So, what sensors should I check, that would affect my idle so much?

RE: Surging idle
I had the same problem on my 92. I got it Dyno tuned and it is running fine now. The techs there told me that if you get a different cam than stock you should definetly get a tune. I am a noob at this stuff so someone can tell me if I am wrong.

RE: Surging idle
you shouldn't NEED a tune, but it helps. Unplugging the battery for 10 minutes will reset the computer, and the computer should be able to re-learn everything it needs to keep the car running decent, especially idle, unless you have a wicked cam.

RE: Surging idle
search for reset idle .....not sure if its on here or not might need to google it
.....basically just ...start /unplug iac and set idle screw on front side of tb to idle how u want / unhook ur battery for 10 mins/ plug in iac/start with no accesories and let idle fr 2 mins/shut off /start run with all assecories on for 2 mins. /shut down
...think thats goes...but u should search to get it right
