I think I have decided that I am going with BBK Longtubes (probably ceramic), a catted H or X pipe (required for emissions) and an American Thunder cat-back exhaust system. Now I just gotta find where I can get this stuff CHEAP!!!!!

Long tubes dont pass emissions, you cant use cats with them and you cant use O2 sensors with them.

You are incorrect. I know of at least one person with long tubes that lives in PA and get emissions every year and he is required to have cats with them. On what grounds do you base your statement?

Ive never seen a shortened mid pipe with cats on it, either way, O2 sensors dont work with long tubes dude, ask someone else on here.

Also, PA emissions is pretty easy to pass. Im not sure if they even have emissions there.

hey you should read up on my website, shows how i installed my long tubes and how i did the O2 sensor swap. so indeed with long tubes you shall need O2 sensors.

and also, there are shortened H-pipes with cats, open up a summit catalog should be in there.

wow, you guys actually like your MAC equal length headers, i must have gotten a crappy set. they dont really fit right, the longest part of my install was not the conflict with the steering stem it was the "smart" individual flange design that we literally had one person pulling the header tube while the other put the bolts in. for my choice i'd go with long tubes on a 5 speed and shortys on an auto with an X pipe and a flowmaster cat back oh and you most certianly can use O2 sensors and cats with long tubes, thats why the sell short catted H/X pipes and O2 harness extensions, and O2 simulators for the post fox era.

I'm not quite sure your correct on that one. I helped a friend convert his camaro big block to fuel injection and he has long tube headers.

All he had to do was go to a muffler shop and have the 02 sensor bugs welded in. His setup works fine.

shouldn't be a problem to have 02 sensor bungs welded into his long tubes and there are short H-pipes from summit for long tube headers like Dbeck said.

what are you talking about. in PA it sucks cause we do have emissions especially around Pittsburgh. i have to pay more money to get my car inspected cause im cat less. if cops wanted to be a dick they could pull you over and **** with you majorly.

I am going to go with BBK unequal length shorties, BBK catless h-pipe, and flowmasters. That is a great set-up for the street, and I also see it a lot out on the track. If you had them all at the same time, it can be a one day install that will really bring your 5.0 to life. The exhaust is one of the main things restricting power in our cars, not suprising seeing how they come with 4 cats + 2 mufflers.

Dont expect that much of a difference. All mustangs have 4 cats. I did full exhaust, its not a big differance at all. And the main restriction on 5.0's isnt exhaust, its heads.

you wrote that the heads are the issue. go do some research there are cars with stock heads going 11s and some 10s. so how do you figure. you just need to do some research and plan correctly yoru combo
