if you are gonna build a motor, i would go with a 331 stroker rather than a 347 stroker, because the 331s actually make more power. For transmissions, i would go with a tremec. They are really strong and reliable.

thats because i told you that the 331 made more power with a blower than a 347 with the same blower. in the 331 ways to waste an LS1 in the MM&FF mag.[:@]

you need to set up the cam and heads to get the maximum performance out of any size engine, so don't let the blower swap make you think you can't make more power with the 347 ci motor, you can, you just have to use the right pieces that take advantage of the extra cubic inches of the 347. remember the old saying, "there's no substitute for cubic inches", well it's true if you do it right.
