RE: harmonic balancer
irregular vibrations is a good sign of a bad balancer.
if you take it the strip you better get a sfi/tci balancer.10's or better i think, but still
by all means don't go cheep!
i thought i could cut corners....you know get a stock one, well i spun mine in less than a year.
i ordered mine from d.s.s $300.00 though.
don't risk hurting your motor, and hard earned money going cheap.

RE: harmonic balancer
i gained more tq...don't know how why ,but i'm not complaining, maybe it was my motor break'n in??
lol.but every part you install on your car.
doesn't have to pertain to hp,that balancer will keep you safe
a bad one can cause your cam to walk, incorrect timing, ect.

RE: harmonic balancer
Yes if it is wobbling, that is a sign of it going bad. If your balancer goes bad it can mess up your timing. I know a friend of mine noticed his 88 GT was running weird so he got down and checked the timing. he was at 34* Base timing. Lucky he didn't blow the engine, but he did manage to blow 3 sets of head gaskets before he realized the problem.
