New Mustang -- put on the parts or wait?

What you should do, is keep the motor you have in there. Go hit a junkyard or keep a look out for another 5.0L and take that one and have it rebuilt and gone through. Then put all those goodies you got onto your newly rebuilt motor and when its all ready, you can take out the old motor and pop in the new. This way you can have some fun with the car you just bought, no down time.

I thought of that too..... Depending how much my cousin can get a bottom end from Ford Motorsports -- I may just go that route. I could get a motor from a junk yard and have it re-done, but when you figure the cost of the motor, the machine work and then putting in a nice set of rings and pistons it might not be that much difference from getting a new bottome end through my cousin. I should know more tomorrow -- he's going to check on the cost when he gets in to work.
I just can't wait to get the darn thing..... This is how **** the guy is I'm buying it from..... He brought it by a week ago for me to look at and I couldn't drive it as I had been putting away quite a few beers. He hasn't been able to bring it by since because "there is a possibility of rain" and it's never been rained on. Hopefully I'll get the title this week and I'll get the pictures posted.
