Default How serious are these issues?

So I had my car up on the lift yesterday (Pennzoil Platinum Oil Change). And I noticed that there is a little bit of fluid leaking out around the pinion seal of my differential, and a little bit around both the bellhousing and tailshaft of my transmission (T5, not AOD). There wasn't a lot of fluid, but definitely enough to be noticeable. Am I going to have to rebuild both of them, or can I keep adding some fluid to them and have them be ok? I know the obvious answer would be to get them rebuilt, but that is a lot of money I'd have to borrow right now. Any suggestions? Or is it even that big of a deal. BTW, I am planning on having the whole differential rebuilt with 3.55 gears and new seals all around at the end of the summer, so can I make it a bit longer without damaging anything?

a pinion seal and trans tailshaft seal are relatively easy to replace and no big deal. but its best to have an impact gun for the pinion seal to get the nut off for the driveshaft flange. as for the belhousing, make sure the fluid is not running down from on top, likea valve cover or lower intake gskt,
if its coming from inside its probably a rear main seal, which naturally involves trans removal but is not too too bad either. also, take a closer look at the pinion seal, cause its common for the leak to actually come from the where the nut is, the fluid leaks throught the treads and the fix is as simple as taking the nut off and putting a dab of teflon paste on the threads.

Are there any writeups on how to do this, or will I have to pay a shop to do it for me? I am rather technically inclined, I have done clutches and stuff like that before, but never on RWD vehicles. If I should be paying a shop, how much is it going to run?

changing the seal is no biggie, what you have to do is before taking the pinion nut off, clean if all off real good and put a mark on the pinion end and a mark on the top of the nut so the marks arePERFECTLY lined up. then zap the nut off w/ an impact gun and yada yada replace the seal, when you put the nut back on, zap it w/ the gun till the second it bottoms out on the flange and gets tight, look at your marks, and finish tightening till the mark on the nut is JUST BARELY, like a hairs width, past the mark on the pinion, so its just a teensy tiny amount tighter than it was, but in reality its perfect. ive done this literally a thousand times and never had a problem (im a ford mechanic).
