Default 89 shifter problem

I bought an 89 mustang with a 94 5.0 motor in it. When I got it needed a new clutch so I put one in. I drove it home the next day I woke up I went to drive it and I couldnt put it in any gear. I would have to jam it into gear. I would have to struggle with it to shift. The car has a 5 speed transmission. I would like to know some information on what you guys think. Please respond your help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you

well pop your hood and look next to the break booster and look at the clutch cable, and see if there is an adjuster there............. but that might not be your problem, might not have the clutch disk perfectly alinged durring instal or it could be a few other things

mines been kinda rough since i put my king cobra clutch in. I have an adjustable cable and a firewall adjuster, i have tried it every way I know. it just dont work as smoothly as when i had my centerforce. If the car has an adj. clutch cable, adjust it till the clutch fork barely has any play in it.

i know this may sound stupid, but make sure it has plenty of fluid in it. I put Dexron 3 ATF on mine.
