i cracked 2 pistons and blew out almost every secondary ring all at once. stock pistons and rings dont like high hp. i was making 18hp per pound of boost with the methanol and about 13hp per pound of boost without. the 280rwhp is just a guess considering i was still running the stock cam.

you can blow it up with just 5psi. its all in the tune and the quality of the parts. my motor blew cause it was full of stock parts that had about 100k miles on them. i sure as hell hope you didnt buy a new motor with stock quality parts in it. if you did, you might as well blow it up just for fun so you can build a good motor

i put the gt40 crate motor in it just because it was a last minute thing.. i wanted the car together right away and that was the easy way to do it in a few days.. it is a long story but i was sick of not having my car because it was in the body shop because of someone else and then lifters going and everything else.. so i made a split second decision

i know how that goes. the motor in my sig was put together with the parts we could get quickly. they are all good parts but the block is still just a factory block......a high nickle 68 courgar block but still a stock block. probably going to end up selling it next month so i can start over now that ive had time to research what i really want.

yeah.. i mean for the money i spent i could have probably done exactly what i wanted to with a motor and it would have been stronger with alot more power.. but i wanted it together a quickly as possible and i live ten minutes from mustangs unlimited and they had the gt40 302 sitting there... so here i am.. but i am happy with it.. it runs strong and i can drive it everyday.. it has new everything.. heater core radiator exhaust gears throout bearing clutch.. you name it i did it.. just so i could rely on the car.. but i want boost and the same reliability.. and i know i will still drive it as hard as i do now.. and the people that tune my car are really good so a tune is not a problem
