the gears are pressed onto the shaft? that i did not know...
lets just say that i am competely ignorant when it comes to transmissions. i've never attempted to learn anything about the guts of them.
i've actually tryed to stay away from learning. i hate things that are so precise.

nothing that you shouldn't have already being a tech.
roll pin punch, hammer, dial caliper, sockets (obviously) gasket skraper, press (manual preferably), bearing spliter, small flat head screw driver, some way to keep things organized (i use multiple bags), RTV, small prybar .... i think thats it i'm sure there is something i forgot but i'll add it later

alrighty then... doesn't sound so bad, just take my time with a spare trans...
last question..
the astro kit, or a5 knockoff, is everything still the same size? just stronger steel? or are we talking case modifications and whatnot...
