Hello all, I was in my local Mustang shop, and I was going in to purchase a CAI for my car. I was just going to go through BBK since they have a chrome fendermount K&N which is exactly what I was looking for. I came to find out, that although BBK is located in CA, they didn't get a CARB EO # for their CAI's. Does anyone know of someone that makes a good smog legal CAI. I tried K&N but they only have inner bay filters, no fendermount. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Know why they don't get a CARB EO # on those? Just curious..

what does that mean? im pretty sure there 50 state legal, i have the bbk fendrwell mount

yea they are all 50 state legal, go with the BBk or check ebay for CAIs.

i have a bomz (ebay) cai. it is fendermounted with polished aluminum pipes. i dont know about the legality of the issue though. i live in GA where there is no testing. hell, there are no tint laws anymore here.

I SEEN CARS IN CA WITH THE FENDER MOUNT WHO CARES ABOUT THE CARB# JUST BUY ONE PUT IN ON YOULL BE OK!

as long as the intake tube has the same hookups as ur stock one then it will be fine. The 50 state legality thing is just for crank case vent and EGR blah blah. Sine i dont have a 5.0 im not sure what a stock intakle looks like but on the imports iv worked on as long as the vacume tube bungs were there they were legal

So although they don't have a carb # they are still 50 state legal? Doesn't seem to line up to me... But I will go ahead and get it. After all, it is just some chrome tubing and a K&N right?
