my mom had an '87 GT in the '80s, so she knows what a 5.0 is, and now she has an '05 GT with a 5speed. she didnt want an auto cuz she called it a p*$$y car....
worst thing is, she never lets me drive the '05 at all... it makes me sad cuz it is a chick magnet...
now is replacing your gas tank, filler neck and pump hard if you do it all in 1 go? this is what I wanted answered....
I know how much it will cost, I just dont know if am better off leaving it to a pro if I question my own mechanical skills...
I dont want to die in a firey inferno...

How would they know you got a 5.0 dropped in?
And saying that they are going to sell it when youre not home is just a bluff..
But a supercharging the 3.8 would also be a solid idea..
all depends on what you wanna do with the car.

Yes the 302/5.0 can be rebuilt really cheap. It's the upgrades that get ya.
If your in college, it's your car, your paying for it, then why do your parents have a say in it anyway?
Luckly my parents were cool with it. Both my brothers had Mustangs (one now has 4, 2 need restored) and they knew I had to have all 8 cylinders intact. They gave me the benifit of the doubt and so far I havn't died or gotten a ticket.[8D]
My sister drove a '84 with the 3.8 in hs, it was nothing but trouble. Sometimes it would run fine, other times it would just quit. Never did figure out what was wrong with it. They sold it to one of my cousins which was a bad mistake. Never sell anything to family (dad was a mechanic) cause if something goes wrong you know who they're calling.
