Default gas gauge question

Ok so i just installed a new fuel pump about a week ago, and ever since, my gas gauge hasnt worked right.....i had the stock 95 lph pump in before, i put in a 150 lph pump, cuz i got it for free and my stock pump was getting annoyingly loud.....the excess gas gets pumped back into the gas tank anyway...

so anyway, i put 20 dollars worth of gas in after i got the pump inand the needle went from red lineto a little less than half a tank at first but then i drove about 4 miles and it dropped to about an 8th of a tank....

any idea what it is? i checked to see if i plugged in all the wires on the fuel tank properly and it was all fine...

Only dies once after its started but will stay running and have no problems after its restarted? That something new or has it been doing it before the new pump went in? When was the last tune up?

As for the gas gauge, try filling the tank and see if it still reads low in a few miles.

yes it runs fine after it is restarted, and yes it just started after installing the new pump, as for the gas gauge, i think it might be the connection on top of the gas tank....the last tune up was about 10 years ago...[8D]
