dude i got a comp cam XE270HR on my 331, there is no driveability problems. .512 lift, 110degree untake centerline, lobe seperation 114degrees. i wish i went with some more lift now, but it should do me good.

cant go any bigger than that for cam unless i want no street driving. what do u think? 185's? or should i risk the 205's?
I think that 11.5'sare unreasonable given the cam you are set on using. As many have said before....302 parts make 302 power. Do some research, I am sure there is a much better cam out there for a 351 that is streetable for a DD than the TFS stg 1. It is small in a 302, even smaller in the 351.Kinda likepeople who build a 347 with an e-cam and then wonder why it makes 290-300hp on the dyno

Stage 3 can be driven on the street but is by no means a DD cam. That thing would drive you insane, my buddy has it in his 91lx and it is nasty!! Stage 2 would be a better choice, but then again others will most likely have better input than me...im not really a cam guy. I just know you would hate yourself if you put that stage 3 in your daily cruiser.

Have you taken into account the need of linked lifters to run the TFS HR (or any other brand) camshafts in your '72 351w non-roller block?.........FYI.....the spider-dog bones retrofit kit would only allow a small base circle HR cam[:'(] to be used, making those cam "alternatives" unreliable.

Times has to do with more than just the motor....can you drive, is the suspension stock...?

suspension

-3.55 gears
-90/10 and 50/50 lakewood struts
-UPR upper and lower adj. control arms
-sub frame connectors
-4 cylinder springs
-welded boxes
-air bags, 5lbs driver, 12lbs passenger

weight removed

-no front sway bar
-no a/c or heater
-no spare tire/ jack

tires

255/60/15 mickey thompson drag radials (might consider 235/60/15's becasue the bigger tire may kill my time) on a centerline 15x8 rim

still have to get a 3500 stall torque convertor.

to be honest i can drive i just turned 16 a while ago, but lets say i am a good driver, times would be. with that suspenison set up and a stock 351w i should run really low 13's
