help with 85gt

Default help with 85gt

hey guys i have a 85gt and its been giving me problems with overheating recently. So i think its time to get a new radiator. Im thinking of going with a alum 2 or 3 row, just seeing which u guys think is better. Also what temp. thermo. should i put in the car? Thanks for the help

180*stat or 190* depending on your climate conditions

3-row>anything less, I got one in mine and good damn that sucker is fat

first off a 2 corealuminum rad. will cool better than a brass/copper 3 core. The aluminum is welded not epoxied. i got a ford racing 2 core aluminum for $245 from c.j's

yeah i was thinking of going with a ford racing 2 or 3 row alum rad. Also i live in CT so should i go 180 or 190?

Get the police package 3 core rad. Its copper, and available at most autozone with a lifetime warranty for around $200.

dude are you sure your clutch in your fan is working?

Im not positive. How would I go about checking to see if it does work. I already flused the system and made sure that there was no air in it. Its not getting too hot but its getting hotter than it normally does so i figure i would just stop the problem before it gets anyworse.

I get em for $35+5 core charge wanna keep going?

and to make sure your fan clutch works, spin it with your hand (WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF) and it shouldnt spin more then 1/4 of a full rotation
