quick question?
i wa underneath my 88 GT and noticed that i have a pipe that goes from the stock H-Pipe up toward the motor, i didnt get a chance to go and look under the hood, but is this the EGR tube if so when i change to put on my BBK shorties, BBK hi flow X pipe and cat back system there is no way to hhok this back up to new system correct. and what do i do?
its not the egr it comes from the smod pump it injects fresh air to help the unburn gasses burn you can braze/weld it to the new pipe or remove it esp if you dont ahve a smog pump
it might send a catalytic efficiency code and yes u should fail emissions no matter what. If you have any emission systems removed they are supposed to fail u. I haven't actually done this myself though so it might not trip a code
It will depend on the requirements in Maryland.....if they do a visual and don't see the smog equipment installed...will it pass?....if they don't do a visual, you shouldn't have problems as long as the system (EEC-IV) is failure code free (with the exception of the smog related KOER codes)....and no....its elimination will not cause the CEL to illuminate.
