If the non HO is not a roller cam (roller cams also came with the 1542.... firing order BTW).....the ditributor gear would have to be replaced to a steel gear.
well i pulled mine from a junk yard and it came out of an 88 towncar with the non H.O motor (pretty sure it was roller) would that cause any issues if used in a 1990 stang???
what will it run like if i use a non H.O distributo gear with a H.O cam?
It's not a matter of HO or non-HO cam.....it's a matter of material compatibility. The roller cams (HO or non-HO) require the steel gear, if you use a non-roller cam gear (iron) it will go snafu in the engine.....break, fu-cam or engine.
