So ultimately I should buy not so cheap headers? Or not worry about the extra weld?

I appreciate the help, HC. Seems you're the only one with good answers lol.

For the benefit you'll receive for doing it, it won't be worth the trouble. Mostly just a waste of time.

I painted my headers with VHT Flame Proof paint, its rated 1300-2000° and is holding good. I dont know that i'd worry about rust on the inside, but u could probably spray it in there too. The first time i painted them i used Duplicolor header paint and it flaked off immidiately, garbage.

I ground the exrta out of the inside of my headers...every little bit helps right?? It shouldn't rust on the inside, and if they do you have other problems considering the inside of the engine is bare steal. It should get coated in cabon in no time anyway.

Well...I didn't think there was much to worry about inside the header itself. Little to no water going through it and if there were I'd have a lot more to worry about than a rusted header right? lol

Any way...thanks a lot guys.

One more question...

Once I do get that fox, I plan to swap out the h/c/i and put a procharger on it. Now, I know the pistons are forged but how will my internals handle the power. I'm thinking with the correct combo and charger I will be putting 'around' 350 to the wheels. Rough estimate. But would it be worth the price to get some stronger rods and pistons? Maybe even a lighter crank?

I've seen some small stroker kits like 306 and what have you. Do the kits like that include some pretty hard to beat internal parts?

Thanks for the time,
Collin

Out 302 blocks will hold safely in the 400 to 450 range...past that you are starting to push it. Stock block should be fine for 350 to the wheels.

BTW, a 306 is a .030 bored over 302, not stroked. A 331 and 347 stroked 306.
