Hello all you 5.0 guys
I recently purchased a Black 89 Hatchback. I always wanted a Fox Body Mustang. Everything is stock. What are some minor mods I can do for a begginer? Intake, exhaust, etc or should I just leave it like it is. Exhaust is already loud than it is but I wouldn't mind adding a little more ponies toi my car. I'm not planning on building up the motor or anything. I'm just gonna use it for a daily driver. Thanks.

well first what do you have for exhaust? also is the air silencer in the fender removed yet that will free up some air flow and a few ponies.. just do a few bolt ons like a bigger TB (65mm or 70mm) and a bigger MAF 73mm and some gears (3.55 or 3.73) to start and you prob will have what you are looking for
also automatic or 5-spd??

I was in ur same position a few months back, a unmodded 1989 LX 5.0. I recently went with a magnaflow cat back and a h-pipe. I felt a difference in power and it sounds great. Also i agree with the others do gears! and headers

Doublecross sub connectors, weld up the torque boxes in the rear, gears (3.55 or 3.73), slotted front rotors, and complete tuneup.
Automatic? new fluid and a shift kit
5 speed? replace the shifter atleast
Whats your exhaust like? It should be atleast 2 1/2" starting at the H-pipe.

SAE 10W-30
Here are a few great begginer mods.
Get a K&N filter, remove the air silencer, use some silicon adhesive that can be removed if needed, apply to the back of the filter, and drop it in, basically does the same as a CAI.
Gears are always a good idea. I like 3.55s, but others like to go higher, so that one is up to you.
Upper/Lower control arms, these will really help the car handle better in both regular driving, and off the line.

3:73 gears.throttle body,MA. Take out the filter box and add K&N cone filter, with these couple of things you can bump your timing. Underdrive pulleys will free up a couple horsepower as well. Correction, with an auto get 4:10 gears
