Default switching sides

ok, so while I kick and scream about the final tranny bolt stripping on me, I had another question that popped into my mind. I noticed that all V8 cars have the ignition coil and battery mounted on the left side of the engine bay. since my car was born a V6 the battery, coil and regulator is mounted on the right side. am I alright leaving it all there? I will be moving the battery to the back eventually...
