fuel gauge problem
so last night I took apart my cluster. I saw that there is a circuit board on the top left of the cluster if you are looking at it from the back. Now my fuel gague doesnt work, I have replaced the sender, and it still doesnt work, I checked the voltage at the terminal in the rear and its getting about 8.15 volts at the skinny yellow wire. is this the nominal voltage that I am looking for. Also when i unscrewed the circuit board the needle was responding more than when the circuit board was screwed on. Can you replace this circuit board with a new one? do they sell NOS circuit boards? I read that im supposed to have 5 volts going to the gauge or something like that but could not figre out which wire it was that gave the fuel gauge signal. HELP PLEASE!

RE: fuel gauge problem
my fuel gauge sometimes did that. Stops working then it works. So i took my gauge cluster apart and after all that it just turned out to be one of the plugs that plugged into the back of the cluster was a little loose because one of the clips had broke off. So i just made sure it stuck in there nice and tight and it hasn't happened since.
As for replacing those little plastic circuit boards, they're very exspensive NOS, and even used. Your best bet if you actually need one is to find one from a junk yard and maybe try to yank if off a guy who doesn't know anybetter or something like that.
