Just talked to D.S.S Racing and Im deciding to order thier SuperPro Bullet long block. After contimplating a 331 or 347, ive decided on the 347. They said it was a little harder on parts but when its only going to the track on the weekends and babied like a child, i dont think it should be too bad.

It includes a level 10 race prepped block
4130 Forged Crank
4340 Forged H beam rods
4340 Forged flat top pistons
AFR 205cc Race Heads
Agressive Solid Roller Cam
and of course the little peices in between. (this combo is about $6,500)

Do you think I will clip the 500HP mark? Ive seen budget stroker builds that top 508 in Hotrod and MM&FF books. They had a little intake where Im using a SuperVictor with a 750 race carb. Do ya think I can see high 9's low 10's with this combo.

Car has UPR suspension (front kmember, coilover kit. Rear: Dbl adj. uppers, non adj lowers)
PA Automatic "Tuff Line" C4 with 3300 Stall
8.8 with 4.30 gears
10.5 inch slicks (running drag radials too)

If you think i should go another route, please let me know. For those thats knowledgable about the NMRA, I plan to run in the Real Street class. I think cubic inches are maximum 311 but you have to add 15 lbs for every 15 C.I. over that right?

All depends on the tune... seems kinda pricey, whats thier long block warranty?

I'm sorry but I have to laugh at this....let me tell you this..no matter if it's a level 100 it's still a stock block and still subject to the around 500hp blues...do yourself a big favor either get a 351 block or a dart,svo one....you need a great foundation

^ Good Point... for that class don't you have to stay 302 block though, so you could build your own with a dart or man or wars block for the same price and beable to make some seriously larger HP...

Well when your on a budget and already paying $6500, adding another 2300 is pushing it. As long as its properly balanced and im not adding boost or nitrous to it, i cant see how its going to hurt. You cant tell me that all these people with blown 347's in thier daily street car have all went out and bough a world or a dart block.

I got a similar thing going on, theres a local 5.0 class here and the only limit is how deep you pockets go eventially I'll stick a KB on there [8D]

DSS is a joke. i wouldnt pay them more then the sum total of the parts being used......about $3200. even then they do a half assed job during assembly

It would be might hard for me to believe that a blown 347 tuned right aint gonna make 500hp! If you put 450 N/A easy, then a supercharged application should me making about 550 AT LEAST!
