Default auto 302-stick351 carbed?

so i got an 88 5.0 thats an automatic with 180 k on it, i want to swap it out for a 351 stick thats got a carburetor, i can pay 650 for the engine and just about everything to put it in, or 1000 for the entire car, maybe with some extra parts from the guy, ifi give him my parts car, but the rear quarters are still in my parts car and the bodys pretty mint, so my questions are.....
-is converting my 88 auto to a 351 stick going to be worth the trouble?
- would it make more sense to make my 88 auto a daily driver type deal, but buy the whole 351 and make that the winter beater/ build it up for summer '08?
i need help soon before i fixup the 88 or buy the one w the 351/ and get rid of my parts car, possibly getting screwed out of money
also, i could part out the parts car in which i do not have a title, and use the money to buy the 351, thanks for the response!

if your going to conver from an auto to a manual ... have fun fabrication to be had, for starters the clutch pedal assembley and alingment etc. next motor mounts tranny mount cross member drive shaft ... maybe the same but the yokes? do your research first buddy

Youre an idiot. There is no fabrication needed. Just parts swapping. A 351 is the same side, other than the height and width, as a 302. If its backed with a T5, why would it be any different? The more difficult part is the wiring and fuel pump setup.

first of all i already have an auto, im taking the 351 out of an older fox with a stick, i wouldnt really trust myself with a stick and a 351, but i have a parts car thats a stick, and has everything, im more worried about getting stiffed for cash, and the efi conversion, i know i need a 351 lower, but im pretty sure my stock 5.0 upper will work, along with all the other EFI stuff i have on the parts car also, or should i just buy the whole car with the 351 for a grand?, its sanded and stuff on the outside, but its got the 4 headlights, so i might want to swap those with a newer lx front end

in that case if you want to keep it an auto, it will bolt right up. and i would leave it a carb easier and all you have to do is put a fuel pressure rugulator on the line and it will feed the carb. the reast is easy, motor mounts not sure on, easy fix though.

you may have to change the fly wheel as well, but you can use your old one

yea but the auto in which i want to drop the 351, is EFI, so id have to take all that stuff out too, wouldnt I?
also, i could buy the entire car for an extra 350, and id like to get a k-member and stuff so i can keep the 351 under a stock hood, so im thinking i might be better off buying the car as is and eventually swapping it into the 88 once i get everything all set-up, any ideas/ suggestions let me know, thanks for the responses though people
