I'm Stumped and Need Help/Advice
OK, this is going to be a kind of long post, but bare with me, you need to read it all to get the point.
OK here was the original problem. I'd get in the car cold, and it starts up just fine. Now let's say I go around town to run errands and do the start cold/stop warm/start warm/stop hot/start hot type of deal. You know, normal stop and go driving when running around. Well if I were to start/stop the car more than 2 times it would probably give the following problem, deffinitly by the 3rd time. It would crank over, but then the RPMs, instead of holding high then droping, would instantly drop, the engine would struggle to run, and the car would idel at around 300 RPMs and would occasionaly stall. Now lets say I try to drive it, as soon as I through out the clutch the RPMs would violently fall, and if I wasn't quick I'd stall out and die. Now sometimes, in neutral, if I reved up to 4000+ RPMs the problem would go away, but this didn't work all the time.
I brought the car in for this problem, ran a dianostic, and nothing turned up, so I thought it may of been the fuel pump and had mine upgraded to a 155 which I need anyways.
Now that didn't cure the problem. 3 weeks ago, after work, I go to get in my car, when it's cold (granted it was 86 degrees outside) and it started up, the RPMs did the same thing, but the damn thing just died, no low idel, just died. I started it up again, and reved the **** out of the car, but as soon as I let off the gas it died. Well 5 days later I finally get the car to the shop, and guess what, the damn thing starts and runs fine and the shop couldn't get it to do this problem. Oh, the car was also running reallyrich. I did get them to cause the first problem to happen, which they were totally stumped on as their diagnostic revealed nothing, even when the problem was occuring.
Now, yesterday I go to get into my car to go to work and same thing, cranks over and dies, and I got the faint smell of it running rich again. I havn't tried since as I'm totally stumped, any advice as to what it could be? I'm thinking the MAF might be dirty and going out, but other people have told me to check everything from the IAT sendor, to the throttle air control sensor, to the damn EGR valve, so what the hell could be the problem?
Thanks to any that can help.

RE: I'm Stumped and Need Help/Advice
OK, found the thread you were talking about. My IAT didn't seem too dirty when I installed my CAI a year ago, in fact in seemed very clean. Anything to look for? I mean, granted I havn't looked at it in a year, but what to look for to see if it's dirty, or bad. Also, could it be the MAF?

It sounds like your mass air meter is going bad on you. Is it a stock meter? If it is try swapping it out with another one to see if it works. Also make sure that the wires are not loose at the connection.

Yea, that's what I've been thinking as well, but I don't like shooting bullets in the dark on a problem because that's how you wind up spending/wasting a lot of money.

They did a full test. Everything thing came up fine, but yet the problem still persisted, but as I stated, problem #1 was a little different than problem #2, because problem #1 didn't run rich.
