Default 2000 rpm idle

i have a friend with a 1995 GT, last week it started to idle at 2000 rpm @ 4500' elevation and at sea level it would be ok but know it idles at 2000rpm every where what s the dealy. Thanks

yah where the throttle body is there shood be a screw, close it and the idlt shood go down. easy fix.

could be the iac it might be that his egr is stuck he should probably have it checked for codes, it should be something fairly simple have him check for vacuum leaks etc, clean the throttle body it might be getting stuck just short of closed he might even need to replace the throttle cable. cant really narrow it down with little info given. but there's a basic outline of how to narrow it down. hope it helps...if you figure it out let us know

i would check for possible vaccume leaks first off... when ever you play with that throttle screw, make sure the last thing you do is set the TPS to .98..... doubt its IAC, but maybe.... i would start there, and check timing.... maybe get some carb cleaner and a good bottle brush and clean out that TB if its been a while....
