Default Big problem need help

Ok so this morning i went and picked my car up from the garage where i park it and drove it home, everything was fine so i came back out about a half hour later and tried to start it and it wouldn't turn over so i checked the battery and everything seemed good so i pulled the starter and took it to auto zone they tested it and said it was bad and gave me a new one, put it in and same thing was happening so i tied to spin the motor over by hand and nothing it wouldn't budge but when i turn it backwards it moves but every time i turn it over my hand it hits a certain spot and stops and wont budge any idea what this could be?

Not to sound like a jerk, but are you sure that you just can't turn it past compression?

Try pulling the plugs and turning it over and see if it pumps water out. If, somehow, the motor got water (coolant) in it, you could have hydro-locked it.

Hopefully a new head gasket will do the trick and there is no damage beyond that.

Fingers are crossed for ya.

Excuse my ignorace, but is this a carburated motor? If so, you may have a failed needle valve that is dumping fuel into the cylinder. Are you sure it was water and not fuel that came out?

Good luck.

Jim.

Sorry to hear it man... I've been there twice myself on Dexcool GMs (hence why I bought a Ford for a "fun" toy)!

If I'm not mistaken, didn't you JUST have your car tuned? I know ya gotta pay to play and all that jazz, but I'd probably go back and talk to the tuner before I tore that thing down... Especially if you tear the heads off and find some torched valves.
