have a problem with my fuel guage.The car is 1990 5.0 with AOD. All guages work, all fuses are good. Wire harness from fuel tank looks good. When the key is turned and power added the fuel gauge starts to go up and after about 1/2 second goes to E and stays there. After I start the car the fuel gauge stays on E all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

sounds like a bad sender. you can drop the tank a little and get it out, no need to remove tank all the way.

 

that it might have been but was not sure. Thanks for the quick response. I'll remove the sender and check it out.

 

I had the same exact problem with my 88 GT. Replaced the sending unit and it was fixed.
