1850 is a vacuum secondary carb i believe, the secondaries will only open when its running. If they feel like there not coming open ,when driving it, you can change the spring that controls the secondaries. Go to holleys website for instructions on tuning the carb, there is lots of good info there.

well that's also because it's not a double pumper meaning there is only an accelerator pump on the primary circuit and unless there is a vaccum drop the secondaries will not open because it's a vaccum secondary carb. If I were you I'd study a little bit or google the theroy and operation of the different types of carbs......cause you have vacccum secondary carbs, weighted secondary carbs, mechanical secondary carbs, single accelerator pump carbs, double pumpers ect ect......... if you have a problem ...what is it and what are you trying to solve????? have you taken the car out on the road to see if the secondaries kick in??
