Here the scenario:</P>


I'm building up a 5.0 to have 450+ HP and 500+ Torque.</P>


Twin turbos or a massive supercharger would be used, no nitro. I can't decide which one, turbos pull real hard but supers launch real hard.<IMG src=smileys/smiley5.gif border="0"></P>


I DON'T WANT to run jet fuel. I've done this and its very expensive when you drive everywhere. Premium is perfect.</P>


I don't know much about these engines. I want to know more. (pros vs cons)</P>


What is a safe bore/stroke? Where should I go for parts? (summit, jegs, etc.)</P>


What is the strongest trans and what would be the best gears?</P>


Which rear end can handle the punishment?</P>


Sorry for asking so much but 1 long post is better than many little ones.</P>

450hp would be pretty easy with a set of good heads, cam, intake, exhaust and a supercharger without using serious boost. The stock forged pistons would be fine for the buildup. The only 5sp tranny choice would be a TKO tremmec, as for an auto, C4 or AOD would both be fine, but the aod would cost more to fix / modify but would have overdrive. A stock 8.8 rear end with 31 spline axles and c-clip eliminators would work fine too. With the right planning running 93 octane and getting those numbers wont be too difficult.

ok, but I want to increase bore/stroke. What would be my options in that area? Who makes good forged internals and crazy cams with that mean sounding idle?

your best bet is to buy one from dss maybe a 331/347 since your knowalege is limited on parts...they make good stuff

spend 2500 dollars, get urself a 331short block from DSS...with the right set-up, they can go 425hp naturally aspirated and bullet-proof<IMG src=smileys/smiley14.gif border="0"></P>
