I ran my '88 notch (72k miles) with about 390hp to the wheels, with slicks/ 3:73's and the stock axles were fine.

Know of an 89 GT, with only bolt on's he decided to go to 31 spline axle's, the stock axles start to tweak after a few harb launches with a 12 second car, so he said anyways.

tweak as in bend? or torque bend as they call it?

As in the splines start to get a slant to them, they tweak.
