Is your stang 4 or 5 lug, I just wanted to know this because, when I ordered my rims today, they have to be custom built for 4 lug because they say 4 lug is uncommon so they do not stock them, also there is no returns on 4 lug wheels.

All Foxes are 4 lug with the exception of the SVO, and the Cobra's......Unless modified of course.

So why are 4 lug rims so uncommon if 5.0s are so common?

I went with 5 lugs so I had a better choice of wheels.

4 lug for now but will be going to 5 lug in the future.

Mustang 4 lug pattern (4x4.25) is uncommon because there are very few other cars with that pattern (I would safely asume that fox body mustang owners are the only ones buying aftermarket rims with that pattern), and (iirc) there aren't any new cars being made with that pattern. The 5 lug pattern (5x4.5) is a much more common pattern, there are plenty of other cars with it, and plenty of new cars come with it.
In other words rims with the 4x4.25 pattern aren't big sellers (by a long shot).

How hard is it, and what is all involved in swapping to a 5 lug pattern?? Cost??
