for cheap hp im going with removing ac compressor, remove smog pump, remove clutch fan (electric fans are highly under rated), under drive pullys out of summit, full length headers duel exhust. and of corse timing! all of these can be had for less than 500$ and they sould improve gas milage as well!

Ya just take out your air silencer and bump your timing. Also i bought a MSD blaster coil And i noticed that my rpm's climb a tad bit faster. and that was only 70$ canadian.

where are you buying your pulleys......you can buy a nice set of alum. pulleys for 75.00 bucks and it iswell worth the 9-15hp it gives back aswell as better gas mileage.....going to a 185 stat will help with any cooling issues.... also going to some lite wt wheels well make the car react faster and also give better mileage as well as a alum. driveshaft

I would have to say that under drive pulleys are the last thing you need. All they do is cause accessory problems and for the money your paying like 100-200 bucks for 5 horses which can easily be gained for free by adjusting your timing degree. Thats just my thinking but im not mechanic
