Default RE: Brakes for 89 lx

I'm using the the factory master on my car even with the 4 wheel disc. The pedal feels no different than it did with drum brakes but it stops a hella lot better. And yes I know for sure it is the factory master because I have replaced it with a factory rebuild unit. Talking with someone recently they where suprised it worked so well, they said I probly still should look into the larger piston master with a proportioning valve cause it should give me even better pedal responce and braking than I have now. Maybe during the rebuild we'll see what the $$ says.

With your rear drums it should work fine with what you got if your only changing the front caliper.

The SVO is set up for 4 wheel disc, I'm not 100% but I think what it would do is put more pressure to your drums causing them to lock up sooner. If I'm backwards on this it would be even worse you wouldn't get enough pressure to the rear.

My car had rear drum when I got it with the 73mm fronts, all I did when converting it to rear disk was swap out the axles and backing plates and hook all the hardware up. Like I said earlier it is functioning fine and stops a lot better than it did when I first got it.
