I had to limp it to a parking lot. When I popped the hood, I saw that the sleeve that connected the blower piping to the MAF had come loose and the twe were now seperated (didn't have it tight enough.) So air wasn't flowing properly across the blowthrough MAF sensor wires. Tightened it back down and I was good to go.

Sam, I checked the clamps and it was all tight and not leaking. It did sound like a pop and then acted like I described above. I am taking it to the gym tonight, we will see what happens.

I was just tossing my story out there. My "pop" was the sound of 5+ PSI of boost getting released into the atmosphere.

Oh your problem is definitely not the same as mine. Mie was due to a loose clamp mixed with pressure. And as you can inmagine, a blowthrough MAF is garbage if there's no air blowing through it, LoL. It completely throws off the readings.

It may be a long shot, but is there any chance that the "pop" you heard was the PCV valve being forced out of the grommet? And now you have a vacuum leak that would cause it to run like ****?

I dont know, I will check when I get home. I could have sworn the sound came from behind the car. I have looked the engine over for faulty wires, vac lines, anything to cause a problem. I could have always overlooked something. Thanks for the idea. I dont want to start just buying parts and throwing them on without having a reasonable idea of what the problem is.
