Default MAF conversion splicing

ok, so i'm doing my MAF conversion this weekend since the fiancee will be at her mom's taking car of her little brother. me and the fox will have some time to ourselves. anyway, from my reading, itseems that they are only 3 wires that i have to splice into. the power and ground from the MAF harness to the EEC connector, and the one going from the fuel pump monitor(under the drivers seat) to the EEC.

is it that easy???

any secrets to soldering these connections??? my buddy who is an electrician said i should buy some clamp that goes on the wire and holds the charge coming from the solder gun so that it doesn't fry the electronics or something. my dad said not to worry about it. i was just planning to soldering the wires then putting electrical tape over it. also, what is the easiest way to get the insulation off without cutting into the wires since i need to strip it off mid-wire???

yeah, it is pretty easy.

check out this page...

http://www.stangnet.com/tech/maf/massairconversion.html

that's what i used when i converted mine. it helped alot. there are some optional connections to make. i don't know if you HAVE to do them, but i did them anyways just to be safe.

they make a wire stripper that removes the insulation midway, but i just used a knife VERY carefully.

as far as the soldering goes, i wouldn't worry about it.
