Yeah if you don't have it in, then it takes all computer advancing out of the picture...not good.

Well, I wouldn't take it off a used car lot, because someone will be buying and driving that car sometime in the future. I only suggested taking it from the junkyard because, well, that car is junk anyhow, no use for the spout connecter anymore, and I don't think they even have it on their pricelist, so if you show it to them, they might make up a category for it and charge you something they make up on the spot. I wouldn't want to risk them charging you too much, just take it.
