Default bumper support HELP

ok so i took my front bumper off to take the weight out of the fender. i was looking and messing with things when i noticed my bumper support wasnt straight. so i shake it and realize there is no bolts holding it on.wtf[:@]. So it looks like im going to have a lil more weight reduction for the front of the car.. could anyone think of a reason ther would be no bolts??? it was just kind of chillin there. glad it didnt fall off when I was driving. i bet my car i get in a head on wreck tommorow. Knock on wood.

On my '85 there were 2 1/2" bolts, one each side holding the absorber to the front subframe.
BTW, the bumper crash deal and the absorbers wieghted like 44# total.
Off the car in front of the spindles would probably have an effect of taking twice that much wieght off........

You will regret taking that support off when you get into your first head on accident... believe me. If is a decent accident it will immediatly crush your radiator support. Have fun drilling out all 50 welds to replace it.

My Mustang is used for drag racing only.
If I ever have a head on or any other accident like that, it will be re-body time, not repair time........
