Losing coolant, heater core???
Ok I replaced both headgaskets on my car about 2 weeks ago after it sat for the winter cause they blew last year. Before they blew I was having problems with overheating, rust in the coolant, and coolant draining rapidly.
Since replacing the head gaskets the car runs perfectly EXCEPT you can smell coolant inside the car and it is leaking not nearly as fast as before but enough to where I have to fill every couple of days. And when it started to get hot, smoke was coming out of my vents and smelled like coolant.
I couldnt find any leaks on the radiator or anything else, so is this my heater core??? Can I do a bypass? Really don't care about heat or ac (just installed ac eliminator) so if I can do a simple bypass and fix this problem that would be great. Just don't have time to pull out my entire dash right now. And I wanted to make sure that it couldn't be anything else causing that problem, thanks.
