gt40p+crane spring help

how do you install crane spring #4430-1 on gt40p heads.
would you better raplace the stock gt40p valve stem seal with poitive seal type.

The answer X2......wide side on the head, narrow side on top, use spring compressor, install retainers on top + red locks for intake valves, and black locks for exhaust valves..... if the retainers don't fit, call Crane.
