Default car is jerky at certain rpm's

ok its like when youre going to slow for the gear your in, except my car never did this before. i know my timing is off since i just replaced the dizzy and coil. possibly a little advanced. it runs kinda rough no matter where i put it so i just got it as good as i could.heres the deal with my motor. did headgaskets still getting some kinda steam/smoke. deleted smog pump, plugged vac lines going to smog stuff. ported heads on motor, vacumed it out and blew it out with air really good, not good enough i assume. dumped oil 3 times now put in full synthetic and magnetic drain plug, also ran gunk motor flush for ten mins prior to synthetic and new filter. i have no cats on the car either...sounds alot dsifferant too, sounds good though, louder deeper. so im not sure what im up against here, but it runs funnky, shakes now and then and idle surges slightly, replace iac with a know good one, any help is apreciated. thanx
