what do I need to do to get a chip for my 91? I have some bolt on mods as of now but am wondering what the concensus is chip versus other means of gaining horsepower.

BBK short tube, cold air, throttle body, waiting for some $$$ heads, intake, cam coming

 

Your stock computer can compensate for your changes for the most part..at this point in your mod list it really is a waste of money....of course after your H/C/I.... and fuel system upgrades ....at that point if you really want to achieve max power and dial the car in then a chip is a good way to go..however if your tech and computer savey...you could buy a stand alone tunner like a tweecer .....but you really need to understand the data logging and different tables and what changes in each field are and how it'll affect/enhance driveability and performance of your vehicle... most people don't like the learning curve it requires you as the user to do that so the chip would be the way to go in this instance

 

ill back up mjr on this one... chip is a waste of money at this point in time
