Default muddy brown coolant

Hi went to flush and change the coolant in a car I just purchased and when I opened the radiator cap it was a brown muddy mess. From what I have heard with this situation the previous owner must have mixed green and orange coolant together. the reservoir was empty. So I obviously need to flush it. my question is can I do a normal flush or did this damage any of the cooling system. It has an aluminum radiator and has aluminum heads. I have only driven the car once and it did not show any signs of overheating. Thanks in advance

go to an advance autoparts, get the prestone flush kit, completely drain your cooling system and run water though it for a while.... you need to wash all the crud out of it

Its easy to do butI would replace the hose you cut cause the prestone thing will leak down the road

Sounds like a bad head gasket! Combustion gasses entering the coolant system causes nasty muddy looking coolant. Do a coolant system pressure check and cyl compression check to find out for sure.
