Default Tranny Leaking

I have an 88 GT with a 5 speed. Everytime it gets warm or I run it hard it leaks 2 little spots of fluid on the ground anout 2 or 3 inches wide each. Its coming from towards the front of the tranny and when I had it up on a lift a week or so ago, it looked like it was coming from the top of it. Any ideas about what the problem is? Its getting really annoying and I'm tired of dealing with it. Thanks.

Its not around the shifter I don't think. Its coming from the top front of it. Any more ideas?

When you say "you dont think", does that mean youre guessing or you took the shifter boot off and actually looked? Maybe the input shaft seal?

Yea, its not from the shifter, it really looks like its coming from the top flat plate on the top front of the transmission. Anyone know where to get an exploded view of the T5? Thanks.

If your car has over 100k miles, in bone stock form.. then your rear main seal is leaking. This is a common occurance when it comes to ford motors with high mileage. Nothing to worry about, but if you plan on putting in a new clutch ect.. then have it changed.

Peace

Alright, is that pretty expensive to have done? Thanks.

Its relatively an easy process that SHOULD NOT WAIT. If your rear main is leaking fix it as soon as possible. This doesnt sound like your RMS though since you said it was tranny fluid right?
