Default Help with Gauge install

Finally got off my fat a$$ and bought a mechanical oil pressure gauge, then i realized i have no idea how to install it. The instructions that it came with suck. I have a 88gt by the way, if there is any one that can help walk me through it, i would greatly appreciate it!

On my 89 lx i believe its on the right side facing the engine down on the side you should see 1 wire with a little rubber boot on it. Unplug the wire and start the car your stock oil pressure guage should read 0, and if you made it this far you found it. Remove the fitting and install your parts put some thread sealant on your fitting and run the hose away from heat into your dash. Read those instructions again and get a manual on the car $15 it will tell you anything you need to know.

make sure you get the copper tubing. the plastic tubing the gauge comes with is not worth the effort to run it , you will be replacing it not soon after. header burnt a hole in mine and the oil went everywhere. fair warning

the oil pressure sending unit is located just in front of the oil filter on the driver's side of the engine block. it is threaded onto a hexagonal pipe extension about 5 inches long that is screwed into the block. disconnect the single wire from the sending unit and unscrew it out of the pipe and then you install the proper sized fitting in the hole to run the line to the gauge. don't use the small plastic tubing that came with the gauge either, use some copper tubing or get a pre-fabricated SS braided hose line to connect the gauge. you can get all different kinds of gauge mounting pods depending on the size of the gauge and where you want to mount it.

My cheap plastic line has lasted for years so far in my installation. Of course I immediately routed it away from the engine, to the fender wall, thru the firewall with a grommet and then to the gage without kinking it...
