how many miles can u get out of a 5.0 before you start having problems with them. im planning on buying a 88-92 5.0 this summer and alot of them have over 100,000 miles on them so i was wondering how many miles you could get out of one.

 

On my '86 Capri 5.0 have around 175k. Second clutch, no real engine work, water pump, power steering pump, just a few mods to exterior of engine. Interior engine is stock and very strong for an old girl.

Mine has 118,000 on it, runs like new, have heard of times when someone has got over 300,000 out of the stock bottom end.. Easily about 200,000

 

i know someone in town with a turbo on his 5.0 with the bottom end having over 200k miles on it

 

i had an 86 f150 i racked up over 200k miles on it with a stock 302. that tuck took me allover this country and hauled some ungodly loads in between, anyone ever seen an stock f150 tow a backhoe on a trailer? it dident go very fast but it can do it

A full sized tractor... C'mon you know what a back hoe is tang... That is pretty impressive. 5.0's kick **** no matter what they're in.. They just look really good doing it in a stang [sm=icon_ladiesman.gif][sm=icon_rock.gif]

mine has 94K on it. when i pulled the heads off to put my afr's on, the walls looked brand new. couldnt even tell the engine had been ran before
